How are we going to “be” together?
My preference is that our time together will be special, because we will make it special. No matter what content we discuss, a major influence depends on how we communicate our messages–the ”music” (tone of voice, inflection, body language, eye contact, etc.) is at least as significant as what we say. Oops! I forgot for a moment, we have none of these aspects–we’re online. What a challenge: to have “music” when we have only the written word. I promise to be especially intentional in choosing my words in an effort to somehow infuse them with a respctful and authentic tone. However, in order to even get close to empathic and wholeome interactions, you must be a part of this commitment too. Are you interested?

Welcome to my new blog. After more than 30 years working as a licensed psychologist specializing in relationships, it’s exciting for me to write about love and relationships in a blog format.
Getting the word out about love takes many forms. When it comes to TV, for instance, there’s none better than an appearance as an expert on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Meeting Oprah and appearing on her show was a fabulous experience, and propelled me forward to write my book, “Making Real Love Happen — the New ERA of Intimacy.” You can learn more about this by clicking the picture of my book on the right hand side of this page.
In this blog, I’m going to write about how you can have a deeply satisfying loving relationship with your loved one. I haven’t met a human being yet who doesn’t want this. What seems elusive is how to love and be loved so that you and your partner are happy and contented. If you’re in a relationship or if you’re not, you will find help and resources here.
I’m looking forward to our dialogue. Please feel free to post your comments. Let’s talk about love!
